Literacy Night & PTa performance
Thursday, November 19, 2015
The evening started with 2nd Grade's performance. The teachers read four different books and the students sang or played to the story. Following the performance, Principal Sanchez invited all parents to Webb Middle School for a college preparation event. The highlight of the night were the literacy stations.
Teachers dressed up like book characters and showcased a literacy activity. Books were given away in the library. We thank Half Price Books for the donations. We also thank our sister school for the clothing donation. Our families had the opportunity to shop in our free garage sale. It was great to see the community come together for this night.
we are girls austin conference
Saturday, November 14, 2015
Fifth grade girls received a scholarship to attend GENaustin’s We Are Girls Conference, a statewide annual event that helps girls explore the issues of bullying, body image, and being a girl. They attended workshops focusing on leadership, healthy living, and creating stories through dance and had a great time bonding with their peers! We look forward to participating next year. We had special guests visit our PK - 3rd grade bobcats. The Austin Symphony's String Quartet came to perform for our students. They explained their instruments and demonstrate them. There were two violins, a viola and a cello. Music performed included the Hungarian Dance Number 5, some Bach.
We are fortunate to be a part of the Building Blocks program where a different section visits us every year.

2nd - 5th grade students took a field trip to a UT Volleyball game. Students are part of the Neighborhood Longhorn Program which provides students an opportunity to earn a scholarship to UT. Good grades, behavior and dedication earned our bobcats their first field trip. Thank you to Mr. Beltran, Ms. Cordova, Ms. Garcia, Mrs. Howard, Mrs. Rodriguez and Mrs. Sharp for chaperoning. Keep up the good work!
